Operating theatre

At Johnston we have two fully equipped operating theatres where sterile surgical procedures take place.

The operating theatres are equipped with stainless steel operating tables, operating lights to illuminate the operating field, anaesthetic machines and monitoring equipment.

The veterinary nurses are all fully trained in monitoring anaesthetics and where necessary assist the veterinary surgeons in surgical procedures.

Surgical procedures carried out at Johnston include routine neutering and tumour removal in cats, dogs and exotics. We also perform wound repair and emergency operations.

We also carry out a range of soft tissue procedures such as thyroidectomy and a range of orthopaedic procedures such as fracture repair.
